The "cabins" shown behind the Maynard Block were built for Richard as rentals and were referred to as the Maynard cabins. Note the existence of two other photo studios on the east side of Douglas St. at 99 and 103 1/2 Douglas. 99 Douglas was the former address of the Maynard photo studio before it was moved in 1892 into the Maynard Block. 97 Douglas St. at the corner of Johnson was the former location of Richard's boot and shoe store.
