    • BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: A mining engineer and journalist who promoted pictorial photography during his first residency in BC, he was further influenced during his years in Montreal by photographic innovators there. He retired from the Canadian Mining Institute in 1919 and relocated to Vancouver where he continued to pursue his photographic and journalistic interests, including a brief partnership with John Vanderpant of Vanderpant Galleries in 1926. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1938. By the late 1940s he had turned from photography to painting.
According to information on the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria page about him, his daughter corrected the spelling of his name to Harold Mortimer Lamb, making his surname Lamb. This is contradicted, however, by one of his marriage registration records in which is name is typed as Mortimer-Lamb, Harold, as well as many other earlier references to his name being spelled Mortimer-Lamb.
